As an artist, when did it become a requirement to also be an activist? In recent years, saying you're an artist (or actor, musician, whatever) has become synonymous with being an activist. But what about the artist who doesn't want to have the loud voice and stand on the picket lines, or worse yet, doesn't agree with the masses?
